Tiger and Vijay enter Buick Open
June 6, 2006Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh are scheduled to play at the Buick Open scheduled for Aug. 3-6 at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club. Woods will be making his eighth appearance at the Buick Open, which he won in 2002. Singh is the defending champion and also won in 1997. Woods, who is an endorser for Buick, has not played since the death of his father, Earl, on May 3. But he said last week he planned to play in the U.S. Open, scheduled for next week at Winged Foot in Mamaroneck, New York.

Pappas wins Rex Hospital Open
June 6, 2006South Africa's Brenden Pappas won his first Nationwide Tour title Sunday, holing a 25-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a 2-under 69 and a one-stroke victory over Charlie Wi in the Rex Hospital Open. Playing two months after his father's death, Pappas matched the TPC Wakefield Plantation record with a 16-under 268 total and earned $81,000 to jump from 27th to sixth on the money list with $135,492. "I've been dedicated to this, stubbornly, for two months," Pappas said.
Haas matches Kite's mark for making cuts

Haas tied a PGA Tour record on Saturday by making the cut at the Memorial Tournament - the 590th time he's accomplished that feat - to match Tom Kite. Morgan wins Allianz Championship
June 6, 2006Gil Morgan rallied from two strokes down on the final two holes to win the Allianz Championship by one shot Sunday, a week after blowing a final-round lead in the Senior PGA Championship. Loren Roberts, who had led by as much as three shots on the back nine, hooked his second shot on 17 into the water. Morgan grabbed a share of the lead by sinking a 34-foot birdie putt, and Roberts fell back into second by missing a 5-foot bogey putt.
Rookie Seon-Hwa Lee wins at ShopRite
June 6, 2006South Korean rookie Seon-Hwa Lee won her first LPGA Tour title, closing with an 8-under 63 on Sunday to surge past Annika Sorenstam and several other contenders for a three-stroke victory in the ShopRite LPGA Classic. The 20-year-old Lee, second three times this year, birdied her last two holes to finish with the lowest round of the tournament and a 16-under 197 total. Sorenstam (67), Jeong Jang (64) and Sherri Steinhauer (66) tied for second.
