May 6, 2006Stung by a playoff loss a year ago and frustrated by two close calls this year, Jim Furyk gave himself another shot at winning Saturday by taking advantage of a rain-softened course for a 4-under 68 and a one-shot lead in the Wachovia Championship. Furyk, the only player to shoot in the 60s each day this week, got the separation he needed with an approach that landed softly and rolled within 2 feet on the 16th hole, then finished with solid pars to reach 11-under 205.
