The Irish rockers were forced to dismantle the final 10 dates of their Vertigo world tour due to a family illness, according to a statement released by promoters.
"This action is unavoidable due to the illness of an immediately family member of one of the band," concert organizer Arthur Fogel said in the release. "Any fan of U2 will realize that this decision has not been taken lightly. We will announce further details as soon as we have them."
No makeup dates were announced and no further details were disclosed. However, some news reports have indicated that a daughter of one of the band members was ill.

The Los Angeles City Attorney's office will not be filing charges against Stapp, 32, for being publicly intoxicated hours after his Feb. 10 wedding, office spokesman Frank Mateljan confirmed Wednesday.
The former Creed frontman and beauty queen Jaclyn Nesheiwat, 25, were married in Miami and en route to a Hawaiian honeymoon via L.A. when he was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of being drunk in public. Stapp requested a blood-alcohol test, which he received--and promptly registered a 0.18, twice the legal limit. The singer was then booked and released on $250 bail.
