Spector Trial Postponed

And so the beat goes on for Phil Spector.

Spector appeared in a Los Angeles court Tuesday to okay a request to postpone his upcoming murder trial to September due to defense and prosecution scheduling conflicts, the L.A. District Attorney's office confirmed.

Spector's attorney, Bruce Cutler, is currently involved in a federal trial in New York that is expected to carry on past the originally scheduled Apr. 24 start date for Spector's trial. Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler asked Spector if he would agree to the delay, and the defendant responded simply with, "Yes, your honor."

A 19-year-old waitress is accusing the country crooner of grabbing her neck in an attempt to kiss her and cussing her out at the Peabody hotel bar in Memphis, the local Commercial Appeal newspaper reports. Police are investigating though no warrants have been issued in the case. Williams' rep dismissed the allegations.

Prince's purple reign has turned into a big pain for his NBA star landlord.

The ever-eccentric Grammy-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has been sued by Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer for allegedly pimping out Boozer's West Hollywood home, which the diminutive rock star is renting for $70,000 a month.

Boozer has since withdrawn the complaint, but could refile should Prince feel like painting more purple symbols on the home.

A Florida record company is suing singer Aaron Carter for allegedly reneging on a recording deal on the grounds that he was underage when he signed the contract.

According to the lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Carter entered into a contract with Trans Continental Records on Dec. 7, 2004, the singer's 17th birthday. A year later, when the kid-friendly crooner turned 18, Carter's attorney sent a letter to the company stating that his client had every right to "cancel or void various agreements" that were signed when he was a minor.

A decade after releasing their last album, "Home Again," the now grown-up members of boy band New Edition--Bobby Brown included--are reuniting to perform at the Essence Musical Festival in July.

Brown, who left the group in 1986 to pursue a solo career, will join Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Ralph Tresvant, Ronnie DeVoe and Johnny Gill onstage during the Houston music fest, slated for July 1 to 3, in what may be a preview of New things to come.
