AP - Latin Grammy fever is spreading to New York City. For the first time in the awards show's seven-year history, it won't take place in Los Angeles or Miami. The Latin Recording Academy has decided to honor Latin music at Madison Square Garden this fall.

Forget that "Papa Don't Preach" stuff--what papa really shouldn't be doing is spilling family secrets to the tabloids.
John Ritchie, dad to Guy and father-in-law to Madonna, says in an interview with the British magazine Closer published Tuesday that the super-couple's relationship has been on the rocks and they are working to salvage their marriage.
The elder Richie, 76, says his son's family relocated to Los Angeles in February in a last-ditch effort to stay together.
"L.A. seems to have helped them," the retired director told the magazine. "It's easier for them out there because there is less pressure. They seem to have left the bumps they were having over here behind them.

Proof, an Eminem protégé and member of the Detroit rap outfit D12, was shot to death early Tuesday at a nightclub along Eight Mile Road.
"Memorial service arrangements are still being made, and his friends and family would appreciate privacy during this difficult time," said Dennis Dennehy, the publicist for D12 at Interscope Records.
According to a spokeswoman for the Detroit police, the 32-year-old Proof, whose real name was Deshaun Holton, was shot in the head after a fight erupted around 5 a.m. at C.C.C., a bar in a Eight Mile Road strip on Detroit's northern edge. The rapper was rushed to Holy Cross Hospital in a private vehicle, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
