Mariah Carey may be taking her role as pop idol a bit too literally.
The multi-platinum "Emancipation of Mimi" singer has teamed up with Pepsi to write and produce 20 original voice and music ringtones for release this summer. Carey will also star in a national commercial promoting the Pepsi Cool Tones & Motorola Phones partnership.

White Stripes Sued

A former business associate is trying to paint the White Stripes as not entirely responsible for their own musical success.
Detroit producer Jim Diamond has sued the Grammy-winning band in U.S. District Court, claiming that he played a key role in shaping the White Stripes' signature sound and contending that he deserves royalties from the two albums he worked on at his Ghetto Recorders studio when the band was just starting out.

The ex-Wham! singer was quizzed by police Tuesday after he rammed three cars with his Range Rover on a street outside his North London mansion and took off without telling anyone, Britain's Daily Mirror reports. No charges were filed, and Michael will supposedly pay the vehicles' owners damages.
