Tom Cruise's new "Mission: Impossible": To convince tabloids that he and Katie Holmes are legit.
Reps for Cruise and Holmes were in super-spin mode Tuesday, furiously issuing denials after Life & Style published a "malicious" and "100 percent false" Valentine's Day story, claiming the entity otherwise known as TomKat was kaput.
The glossy's Feb. 27 cover story bears the headline "SPLIT! And Katie's 7 Months Pregnant," and quotes unnamed "friends" as saying the relationship is a sham and will officially be over after the birth of their child and release of "Mission: Impossible 3" this summer.

Shannen Doherty's not-so-charmed life has hit another bump in the road.
The erstwhile "Beverly Hills 90210" star was involved in a car crash in Malibu on Monday that resulted in another driver being taken to the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation and no citations have yet been issued.

Uma Thurman was inducted this week into France's Order of Arts and Letters, the country's highest cultural honor.
The "Kill Bill" star was honored with the prestigious knighthood Tuesday by Cannes Film Festival Director Gilles Jacob, who issued the award on behalf of the country's Culture Ministry.
