Jackson Makes Good

Michael Jackson beat a 5 p.m. (PT) deadline Wednesday and agreed to pay more than $300,000 in back wages to employees of his Neverland Ranch.

Jackson, who had failed to pay the troops since December, was facing a lawsuit from the state of California.

The entertainer has not lived at his sprawling ranch/amusement park since being acquitted of child-molestation charges last June. He has been spending the bulk of his time in Bahrain in the United Arab Emirates.

Did you hear that Will Ferrell died in a tragic paragliding accident? Apparently you're not alone.

A publicist for the actor spent the better part of Tuesday shooting down an Internet-spawned rumor that Ferrell had died in said mishap.

The truth: Ferrell is "alive and well" and on location in Canada.
