Johnson preparing for life without Knaus
February 15, 2006Chad Knaus has yet to feel the full wrath of NASCAR officials, but Jimmie Johnson and the No. 48 team are preparing for life without their crew chief beyond Sunday's season-opening Daytona 500. NASCAR officials ejected Knaus from all Daytona activities Monday after finding a raised rear window on Johnson's car during a technical inspection after qualifying, an illegal modification that could have made the car faster by directing air away from its rear spoiler wing.
