Jarrett wants to lock up future in next 10 days
May 5, 2006Dale Jarrett knows the next contract he signs will be his last. He's just not sure what car owner will be passing him the pen when he does it. In the final year of his deal with Robert Yates Racing, Jarrett has skyrocketed to the top of the free agent list and has been asked to drive one of Michael Waltrip's new Toyota entries next season. But there could be even more opportunities on the horizon: Kevin Harvick took his name off the market Friday by re-signing with Richard Childress Racing.

Harvick signs a three-year extension with RCR
May 5, 2006Kevin Harvick chose loyalty over money, signing a three-year extension Friday to remain at Richard Childress Racing. Considered the top free agent for 2007, there was speculation that Harvick was courted by Toyota and other car owners offering huge paydays. But Harvick decided that staying with the team that hired him in 2001 provided the best chance of winning a championship. "I go in thinking we can win every week, and it's been since 2003 that I had that feeling," Harvick said.
